Images should appear on translations as well

The problem

A multi-language content type. Images are "attached" to those through a nodereference field to choose a node where the pictures should appear. Now when translating, the images only show up on the original language (source) node. Not the translation.

Images are the most logical use case, but this solution can be used for any content that uses the nodereference field and should show up on translations as well.
