It's called Viber. Apart from being free to start with, the most amazing about this brand new application:

It already "knows" which of your contacts also have the application installed. No need to add them manually.
An audio quality better than the regular phone line.
No need to login. Where ever there is WiFi, you are connected.
Blackberry, Android e Symbian will have their version soon. That means that practically all WiFi enabled phones will jump in AND they can "talk" between each other, creating the largest real mobile VoiP network around. I wonder how long it takes then to law enforce providers to block it, like already happened with Skype in several locations (e.g. Dubai).
